My Kids

My kids are growing so fast! They're at the best ages where they both need the much needed attention. Aden's a little over 2 1/2yrs old so we're at the fun stage of doing potty training. I kid you not, it's a lot harder than I imagined. We just started and he's had more accidents than doing it right. I don't want to rush him and that's been the advice of the veteran moms I know. They usually take it upon themselves and one day he'll just be potty trained. He understands what he's doing but he tells me after the fact that he's done it and I have 2 big boy potty books that we show and read to him all the time. The funny thing is, he tells us, "Ak go tell mommy, daddy, lola and tita cake aden go wiwi, uu" (I'll go tell mommy, daddy, lola and tita Kate, Aden go wiwi, uu). It's so funny! I try to hide my face from him whenever he says that because I can't help not to giggle. My goal is to have him potty trained by fall since he’ll be starting pre-school.

Maia turned 3months old today and she's now reacting and smiling back when you talk to her. She first smiled back day after her 2nd month birthday, January 26, and it was so ironic because Trent, Aden and I had the worst stomach flu ever and here she is, smiling and laughing back at us. She's gained a lot of weight and she's just so huggable! She's getting more beautiful everyday. Her eye color started changing from blue to green just like her dad's eyes. I call her legs "logs". She's so chunky, kissable and did I mention huggable?

The highlight of our day was we finally had our family picture taken after 3 attempts in 3 months.

Hailing in Lincoln

Last week, I enrolled Aden in art class that was supposed to start today. Unfortunately, not enough kids signed up so they had to cancel it. I took the kids out for a drive just for us to get out of the house. When we got home, both of them were sleeping so I carried them out of the van and as soon as I laid them down, it started pouring and it was loud. When I looked outside, to my surprise it was hailing! This is only my 2nd time to see it hail here in Lincoln since we moved in 2003.
